Burbler of the Year 2011

Three years ago when a fellow Burbler was discussed as “A proper Burbler, in fact the Burbler of the Year, I think he deserves an award”, little did we realise that what is not in fact an annual award would become the Burbler of the Year award to be presented for the third time at this year’s annual Burblers Christmas lunch.   Christopher Allan and George Wilder were each awarded a beautiful octagonal glass trophy engraved with their name, the MG logo and the words reflecting their work,  RV8 – The Manufacturing Story.

Chris Allan (right) received his Burbler of the Year trophy from Julian White, General manager of MGCC. George Wilder (left) had already received his trophy at the annual Burblers lunch.

What is modestly described as a Research Paper will, in time, become the bible for those interested in the details interspersed with humorous anecdotes concerning those involved at the time.

George Wilder went even further by organising a book signing day that allowed the opportunity to meet some of the people involved with the Adder Project from the assembly floor to senior management.

Everybody at the lunch contributed to the cost of the two awards which made the presentation such a delight and the event very special indeed.
